How this calculator works
Attendance percentage is just the share of held classes you actually showed up to:
Once you're above your college's minimum, the calculator works out the most classes you can miss going forward while your attended-count stays at or above that minimum against the growing total. If you're below it, it works out the fewest classes you'd need to attend in a row to climb back above it — there's no way to "skip forward" past a shortage, you can only attend your way out of one.

Frequently asked questions
What is the formula for attendance percentage?
Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100. If you've attended 30 out of 40 classes held so far, that's (30 ÷ 40) × 100 = 75%.
How many classes can I miss and still have 75% attendance?
It depends on how many classes have already been held and how many you've already attended — that's exactly what the calculator above works out. As a rule of thumb, once you're above 75%, you can keep missing classes as long as your attended-count stays above 75% of the new total after each miss.
What happens if my attendance falls below 75%?
Most Indian universities (under UGC/AICTE guidelines) debar students below 75% attendance from sitting the semester-end exam in that subject. Some colleges issue a short-attendance notice or fine first — check your own institution's specific policy, since enforcement varies.
Is there a condonation rule for being slightly below 75%?
Many universities allow a condonation of up to 10% (i.e. down to 65%) with a valid reason — usually medical leave or documented emergencies, submitted through your department. This isn't automatic and isn't universal, so confirm with your own college.
Does attendance percentage reset every semester?
Yes — attendance is almost always calculated per semester (and often per subject individually, not as one combined average), not cumulative across your whole degree. A rough patch one semester doesn't carry over to the next.
